Mont Blanc Zone is organisation made up of a group of mountain professionals (Mountain Guides and Nature/Trekking Guides) that propose a selection of mountain sports activities associated with the knowledge and experience of the Mountain Guides and the wildlife understanding of the Nature/Trekking Guides, utilising their understanding of the alpine culture and the many forms in which it has evolved.
The objective of our organisation is to offer, within the safety limits of each particular activity, the understanding and appreciation of our mountain territory together with it’s alpine and mountaineering culture.
| | | | Mountain Guide, born in 1965, for over 20 years has lived and worked out of Courmayeur. His career has enabled him to accompany his clients on some of the most difficult and demanding climbs of the chain of Monte Bianco. His portfolio of ascents with clients include over 200 repetitions between Grand Capucin, Sud del Fou, North of the Droites, North of the Grand Jorasses, Freney Pillar, West face of the Dru, Pilier d’Angle, Super Couloir. He has accompanied clients 4 times on the Nose route of Capitan in the Yosemite Valley and his curriculum also includes, amongst others, the first winter ascent of Elisir d’Astaroth at Grand Capucin, the first solo ascent of the Bonatti-Vaucher at the Grand Jorasses, the first direct route of the South face of Mont Maudit, the first "on sight" ascent of Entre dans legende alla Pointe A. Rey (8a) and Les Ailles du desire at the South Face of Fou, not forgetting the repeat of Salathè at Capitan on 10.5 hours. He has also achieved the 8c of Cous-Cous at El Chorro in Spain. Within Mont Blanc Zone he is responsible for co-ordinating the mountaineering activities, climbing and ice climbing programmes.
| | Mountain guide and Ski Instructor, born in 1976, lives and works out of Courmayeur. Experienced in various mountaineering disciplines (has achieved routes such as Lagarde on the north face of Droites, lo Sperone della Tournette of Monte Bianco, the Pilier Cordier at Aiguilles des Grand Charmoz, Voyages selon Gulliver at Grand Capucin, the first repetition of Supersonic in Valle dell’Orco and, together with clients, the Contamine-Anouk of the Petits Jorasse and Maillon Manquant at Peigne) his particular passion and experience in steep skiing (50° - 55°) allowed him, during the winter season of 06/07, to accomplish a number of important itineraries, of which; the direct West face of Monte Bianco, the Jager Couloir at Mont Blanc du Tacul, the North face of the Becca di Monciair, the NE Couloir of Petits Mont Blanc, the South face of Les Courtes, the NE Couloir of Breche Nord delle Dames Anglaises, the NE Couloir of Col des Cristeaux, he has accompanied clients on the East Couloir of Tete Carrè and Couloir Bonatti of Mont Blanc.
Within Mont Blanc Zone he coordinates all of the snow based activities.
| | A Mountain Guide for over 10 years, was born in 1966 and lives near to Aosta. He has accompanied clients on a range of different routes, from Classic to Modern, either with skins in the winter time or with climbing shoes during the summer months. He has descended many canyons all around Europe and has travelled to the furthest corners of the globe. His passion for climbing has no limits, together with his interest for freeriding and ski touring. His affinity with the high mountain environment is demonstrated in his many mixed route accomplishments. He is a member of the Aosta Valley Mountain Rescue Team, based at the heliport of Aosta. Within Montblanczone he is responsible for co-ordinating ski touring, canyoning and G.P.S. mountain safety courses.
| | Mountain Guide, has been living for over 10 years in USA, France, Switzerland and Italy, always looking for new adventures. Two years ago he decided to make his passion his job. His preferred environment is surely ice. He has climbed ice-fall as Repentance Super and Juste une Illusion, and goulottes such as Ginat-Jackson at Les Droites, Cecchinel-Nominè at Pilier d'Angle and Colton-MacIntyre at GrandesJorasses. The interest in adventures drove him in Afghanistan and Madagascar, true Eden which offer superb opportunities for climbing, trekking and mountaineering. In Montblanczone is responsible for ice climbing and travel.
