The Valley Blanche is one of the most celebrated off piste runs of the Alps: 24kms of off piste terrain, from the height of 3,462 mt at Punta Helbronner, down to 1,037mt at Chamonix through the Mer de Glace. A descent dominated by the spectacular views of Monte Bianco and impressive granite walls of the surrounding massif. An experience not to be missed by any passionate skier.

Together with our Mountain Guides you can enjoy a safe and unforgettable descent from December through until April/ beginning of May. During the winter months the snow conditions are generally soft powder, that becomes progressively transformed into spring snow conditions towards the end of the season.

The meeting point is at the Monte Bianco cable car at La Palud (just a few kms from the centre of Courmayeur) at 8.30/9am. After taking the lift up to Punta Helbronner the descent begins at around 9.30/10am. During the descent there is an opportunity to stop for a packed lunch at the “Salle a manger”, the perfect spot to relax for a moment, have a snack in the sunshine and take more breathtaking pictures of the glacier surroundings. From here the descent winds down to Montenvers then onto Chamonix. Should there be lack of snow on the lower part of the run the Montenvers cog railway can be taken back down to Chamonix. At Chamonix it’s time for a refreshing beer in one of the many bars at this mountaineers capital, before taking the local bus back to Courmayeur for around 5pm.

Equipment:
As well as the usual appropriate ski wear for the time of season, we also recommend a small backpack, camera, and a packed lunch. On request any equipment required can be hired from the organisation.
